Privacy

Last updated on 26 October 2026.

paper2epub turns scientific papers into EPUBs. The short version: your files are deleted within an hour, nobody looks at them, and there are no accounts and no analytics.

Your files

The PDF you upload is checked, converted and deleted as soon as the conversion ends, whether it worked or not. The EPUB, and everything worked out from the PDF on the way, is kept in a private folder on the server for an hour so you can read and download it, and then deleted. The ✕ next to it deletes it straight away. It can only be reached with the random link this page made for you. Your files aren’t shared, looked at or used for anything else.

What the server records

Like any web server, it keeps a short technical log for running the service and stopping abuse: the time, your IP address, the pages and links requested, and the size of each upload, but not its name. The log is rotated automatically and old entries are overwritten. Your IP address is also kept in memory while your conversions are in the queue, to limit how many files one visitor can queue at once.

Cookies

paper2epub itself sets no cookies. The page remembers your conversions in your browser’s session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab.
