Terms of use
These terms cover the use of paper2epub.com and its converter. By using the site you accept them. They’re short and in plain language; if anything is unclear, write to me.
The service
paper2epub is a free tool that converts PDF files of scientific papers into EPUB e-books, made and run by Miguel García, a private individual in Spain. There are no accounts and no paid plans.
Your files
You keep every right to what you upload, and paper2epub claims none. Upload only papers you’re allowed to use, and use the EPUB the way the paper’s licence allows: most papers can be converted for your own reading, but sharing the result is up to the paper’s copyright, not to paper2epub. How long files are kept and what the server records is in the privacy page.
Acceptable use
Don’t upload anything illegal or anything meant to harm the service or its visitors, don’t try to get around the limits or the security checks, and don’t send files in bulk with scripts or bots. The service may refuse files, limit how many each visitor converts at once, or block whoever abuses it.
No guarantees
The conversion is automatic and can contain mistakes: a formula, a table or a passage may come out differently from the PDF. For anything that matters, like a citation, a number or an exam, check the original. The service is offered as it is, and it may be unavailable at times, change, or end.
Liability
As far as the law allows, paper2epub and its author aren’t liable for any damage or loss from using the site or its EPUBs. Nothing here limits a liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.
Advertising and other sites
The site shows ads served by Google, and links to other sites, such as arXiv or the tools the blog compares. Those sites have their own terms, and paper2epub doesn’t control them.
Changes and law
These terms may change; the date at the top says when they last did. They’re governed by Spanish law, and if you’re a consumer you keep the rights the law of your country gives you.
